A significant part of Hayson’s mission involves helping others gain access to opportunities. Throughout his career, he has personally paid for security guards to receive training that could help them achieve their professional goals.
One example involved a young security guard on his first assignment. During the shift, the guard’s phone battery died, causing missed hourly check-ins through the company’s monitoring system. From the client’s perspective, the situation appeared to be an abandoned post. Although Hayson agreed with the client’s concerns, he still ensured the guard received payment from OLDPGS. Rather than focusing solely on the mistake, he viewed the experience as a learning opportunity for the individual.
For Hayson, creating opportunities means giving people a chance to learn, improve, and move forward. He believes that success comes from taking responsibility and making better decisions rather than waiting for circumstances to change. By investing in training and supporting those entering the industry, he hopes to give others the same opportunities that helped shape his own career.
This people-first approach is one of the principles that sets him apart. While managing the company, he remains involved in both office operations and field activities alongside his affiliates, maintaining a direct connection to the work being performed every day.
Recognition Today and a Vision for Tomorrow
Hayson’s dedication to business excellence has earned notable recognition. He was a recipient of the Business Hall of Fame Award from the City of Pasadena, California, in both 2022 and 2023. These achievements reflect his commitment to leadership and service within his industry.
His organization provides a range of services, including armed and unarmed uniformed security officers, alarm response, SB1626 school security, investigation services, loss prevention, and additional security solutions. The company’s guiding principles are reflected in its slogans: “Security you can count on” and “Dedicated to a safe and secure environment.”
Among the company’s notable assignments, OLDPGS handled security for actress and entrepreneur Vanessa Hudgens during a meet-and-greet event promoting her brand CALI WATER at Sprouts Farmers Market.
Looking ahead, Hayson envisions expanding the OLDPGS SECURITY MANAGEMENT brand through retail locations featuring OLD Patrolman-branded products, including firearms, security technology, tactical wear, and more. He also plans to establish security training centers and an event-focused sister security company.
His advice to others remains consistent: take control of your goals and stop allowing opportunities to pass by. As he puts it, if he had not gotten up and taken control of his goals, he would not be where he is today. In his view, success begins when individuals choose action over excuses and commit to building a better future for themselves.
